Midcentury Walnut and Leather Italian Writing Desk, 1950

Elegant Italian desk in leather and walnut wood, classic and very linear design for a desk from the middle of the last century.

Top of the desk all covered in light brown leather, with wooden edge running along the perimeter of the desk top, the corners are rounded. The part below of the top, that is the body of the desk, is all veneered in walnut wood. Here there are two drawers for side, with light brass handles that allow opening. Wide the central part where the legs stay. The back side is also veneered in walnut wood, to note the design of the wood veneer in a herringbone pattern. Even the body of the desk, like the top, has no edges. In fact the legs which are a continuation of the body, are rounded in the outer part but hollow in the inner part. The leather is original from the 1950s.

It was found in an important house in Turin, in excellent conditions of use. Restored and renewed in the part of the skin. This item has no defects, but it may show slight traces of use. Wear consistent with age and use. Misure (175x90, H 79). Inches (69 x 35, H 31).
