A classic of Murano glassmaking, the sphere remains a status symbol in Murano. This particular one is a true work of art from the Murano furnaces; transparent in color with internal decorations in blue and pink; its internal decorations resemble flower petals. A highly complex process of bulicante glass, it's a unique technique that involves trapping tiny air bubbles within the glass. The Murano furnaces create an undeniably timeless design, simple yet elegant. This technique is used to create solid and complex forms. Large masses of incandescent glass are shaped directly with tools and manipulated to achieve the desired shape, as in the case of sculptures with many spheres of varying sizes.
